On the 11th June Waterstone's will be releasing an exclusive Trade Paperback version of RAVEN Blood Eye. This version will contain added material including an extended historical note. I know it's not fashionable to like these big chains, but I have to say Waterstone's have been incredibly supportive of RAVEN and I thank them for it. I'm not really into bashing Starbucks either come to that. In fact, I might go and get myself a cappuccino and browse the bookshelves.

Some of the best historical fiction authors in the business have been kind enough to make the RAVEN journey and share their findings.

'A powerful, lightning-paced tale of the Norsemen in England; an astonishing and riveting debut.'

Bernard Cornwell

‘An excellent book. If I ever thought of writing a prequel concerning The Oathsworn, I could not better this.’
Robert Low, author of The Whale Road

‘Giles Kristian has written an exceptionally good first novel. Raven: Blood Eye is a gripping tale of action and treachery which splendidly conjures up the sounds, sights and smells of Dark Age Britain. It creates a believable world of men fighting, feasting and braving the sea, a time when the Christian and Norse gods were very real and very close in the thoughts of mankind. It leaves the reader keen for the sequel.’
Harry Sidebottom, author of Warrior of Rome

‘Kristian’s first novel is a rip-roaring Viking saga in the glorious, blood-soaked tradition of Low’s ‘The Whale Road’ and the Severin ‘Viking’ trilogy. Raven is a complex, engaging hero, caught at the interface between the old world and the new, trying to carve a path through a world that is satisfyingly confusing while still retaining the bedrock of all good sagas: a woman to fight for, a church treasure and a duplicitous priest. The old gods and the new battle it out using their followers as pawns and the reader is dragged breathless through the thorns of their confrontation. Fine, powerful, thrilling stuff!’
Manda Scott, author of Boudica

I've been busy doodling for Doodled Books, which is not easy when you can't draw for toffee.
